Hyperhidrosis - overactive sweat glands

Medically, hyperhidrosis (hyperhydrosis) or excessive sweating, can be described as eccrine sweat gland hyperactivity (overactive sweat glands) - either in general over the whole body or locally and then often confined to sweaty palms, feet, armpit perspiration, groin or under the breasts. Most people with hyperhydrosis actually do not seek medical treatment but in severe cases of excessive sweating, hyperhidrosis treatment may be necessary (hyperhidrosis botox treatment or other hyperhydrosis treatment).

Profuse sweating - sweaty palms, armpits

Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating, night sweats etc) is not normal, profuse sweating (often sweaty hands, palms or excessive armpit sweating) affects a small percentage only as a chronic condition. Although excessive perspiration is not normal, everyone sweats though and most people are once in a while affected by profuse sweating.

Sweaty palms, sweaty hands or armpit perspiration every once in a while is nothing to worry about, this is perfectly normal and can depend on stress, heat or infection. If you however are affected to the point where you have problems in your normal life, you may be affected by excessive sweating - hyperhidrosis (hyperhydrosis). This will normally result in sweaty palms, sweaty feet and armpits, sometimes to the extent that it will start to drip.

Excessive sweating - severe armpits perspiration

Hyperhydrosis - excessive profuse sweating (perspiration) can either be limited to a few areas such as the armpits or the palms (sweaty palms, hand sweating), or it may be covering the whole body. Hyperhydrosis (hyperhidrosis) often starts during or after puberty. It can be present more or less all the time but it is common that excessive sweating gets worse during stressful periods.
